How To Measure For A Swimming Pool Cover

Step One

Measure The Inside Wall Of Your Pool

To measure your pool for a pool cover, measure its length and width at water level. For step areas, measure them separately, considering their location relative to your standing position.

Step Two

Don't Have A Square Pool? No Worries

For non-square pools, create a rectangle outline using string, rope, cord, or a garden hose to determine the maximum water level length and width. We provide extra material for any adjustments, so precise water level measurements are sufficient.

Step Three

Have A Step In Your Pool?

To measure your pool accurately, use a tape measure to determine its length (L) and width (W). NCS  will provide extra material for adjustments due to upturn and shrinkage. For pools with steps, measure the step area separately. Our pool covers are intentionally oversized for on-site trimming, using your pool as a guide. If your pool has a unique shape, treat it as a standard pool during measurements.

Step Four

Take Care When Cutting The Blanket

When trimming the blanket to fit, start by cutting it slightly larger and then refine it later. Keep in mind that once it’s cut, you can’t add it back, so proceed slowly and steadily, removing small amounts until you’re satisfied.
